George Augustus La Dow (18 March 1826-1 May 1875) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-OR AL) from 4 March 1875 to 1 May 1875, succeeding James W. Nesmith and preceding Lafayette Lane.

Biography[]

George Augustus La Dow was born in Cayuga County, New York in 1826, and he moved to McHenry County, Illinois before becoming a lawyer in Waupaca, Wisconsin in 1850. He served as district attorney from 1860 to 1862, when he moved to Wilton, Minnesota; he served in teh state house in 1868 and 1869. That year, he moved to Pendleton, Oregon, serving in the state house from 1872 to 1874. He served in the US House of Representatives in 1875, dying before Congress convened.
