Georg Donatus, Hereditary Grand Duke of Hesse (8 November 1906 – 16 November 1937) was a German nobleman and Nazi Party member.
Biography[]
Georg Donatus was born in Darmstadt, German Empire in 1906, the son of Ernst Louis of Hesse and Eleonore of Solms-Hohensolms-Lich. In 1931, he married Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh's sister Cecilie, and both of them joined the Nazi Party in 1937. That same year, they were killed when their plane hit a factory chimney in Ostend, Belgium.
