Gene Gotti

Gene Gotti (born 1946) was a Gambino crime family drug trafficker and the brother of John Gotti.

Biography[]

Gene Gotti was born in The Bronx, New York City, New York in 1946, the brother of John Gotti, Peter Gotti, and Richard V. Gotti. The mentally dull Gotti became an associate of the Gambino crime family in 1966, and he was imprisoned in 1969 and 1973 for theft and illegal possession of a firearm, respectively. In 1976, he became a made man in the Gambino crime family, and he worked for his brother John in the family's Ozone Park, Queens crew. By the early 1980s, Gotti, Charles Carneglia, and Angelo Ruggiero were running a large drug operation, and he became the replacement capo for the Ozone Park crew in 1986 after his brother John murdered Don Paul Castellano and took over the family. In 1989, he was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for drug trafficking.
