Genba Karasawa was a retainer of the Shinano-no-Sanada clan. Formerly a Saito samurai, he later defected to the Sanada clan and fought under Masayuki Sanada in the 1575 Battle of Nagashino. When the Takeda lost the battle, he escaped and returned to his land. He fought in the Sekigahara Campaign.
