Geheimhaven

Geheimhaven was a secret Nazi supply base located on a deserted Greek island in the Aegean Sea. The island was originally inhabited by a small goat flock, but the Kriegsmarine took advantage of the island's isolation and established a secret U-boat pen in a cavern. In 1936, the U-boat Wurffler brought the Ark of the Covenant to Geheimhaven after intercepting and boarding the tramp freighter Bantu Wind, and the French archaeologist René Belloq and the German Colonel Herman Dietrich marched into the island's interior for a filmed ceremonial opening of the Ark. The event, guarded by dozens of German soldiers, ended in disaster, as Belloq and the Germans mysteriously vanished, purportedly killed by the rival archaeologist Indiana Jones, who claimed the Ark on behalf of the United States government.

Geheimhaven was later destroyed by the Royal Navy in 1941, during the Battle of Greece.
