Gede

Gede (died 877) was a Pictish chieftain and warlord who led an invasion of Nottinghamshire in 876-877 AD. He led his warband to occupy the wooden fort at Oakerthorpe in present-day Derbyshire, and he held the fort against Hemming Jarl of Hellirborg's counterattack in early 877. He engaged in a duel with the Viking warrior Eivor Wolf-Kissed at the end of the battle, and Eivor used his own halberd to behead him before flaunting the spear before his fellow Norse warriors.
