Gavrila S. Shurupov

Gavrila Sergeyevich Shurupov (16 October 1908 – 8 December 1942) was a political commissar of the Soviet Red Army during World War II.

Biography[]

Gavrila Shurupov was born in Desnogorsk, Russian Empire, and he joined the Red Army as a political officer. Shurupov carried a membership card of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and he was one of the officers who supervised the 13th Guards Rifle Division's men and women during the Battle of Stalingrad. He was killed in action during the fight against the Wehrmacht at the train station on 8 December 1942.
