
Gavril of Moldau (829-879) born Gavril Presianov Balgarsko was the Duke of Bessarabia, Steward of the First Bulgarian Empire, a prince of Bulgaria, and heir to the Counties of Galați, Marmaros, Torki and the Barony of Chișinău.
Biography[]
Gavril was a son of King Presian of Bulgaria, and was an Orthodox Christian of House Balgarsko, claiming the Blood of Atilla. Gavril was made the Duke of Moldau (present-day Moldavia) by his father after he died, and Gavril also served as the Steward of the First Bulgarian Empire during the reign of his brother Boris I of Bulgaria. He was also the brother of Duke Dox of Transylvania.
