Gator Lerner

Gator Lerner (1945-2 January 1968) was a US Army Specialist who served in Bravo Company, US 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He served as the Vietnamese-language interpreter for his platoon during their operations on the Cambodian border in the fall of 1967 and 1968, and he took part in the interrogation of village chief Phan Thành Sang. He was mortally wounded during the New Year's Day Battle of 1968, and he died after he was airlifted off the battlefield.
