Garvin McDougle (1807-1853) was an American farmer who settled in the Republic of Texas during the 1830s. Born in Red Bay, Alabama, the son of Ewan McDougle, he served in the state militia during the Creek War of 1836 before a sense of wanderlust took him to Texas following the Texas Revolution. McDougle settled in Nacogdoches and grew corn and sweet potatoes before serving in the state militia during the Mexican-American War. He fathered four children, including Irvin McDougle, and he died in 1853.
