Ganesh Ghosh (22 June 1900-16 October 1994) was an Indian communist revolutionary who was a member of the Indian Legislative Assembly from 1951 to 1967 and a member of the Lok Sabha from 1967 to 1970.
Biography[]
Ganesh Ghosh was born in Chittagong, Bengal Presidency, British India on 22 June 1900, and he studied at the Bengal Technical Institute in Calcutta before joining the Anushilan Samiti revolutionary movement. In 1930, Ghosh, Surya Sen, and many other Anushilan members took part in the Chittagong armory raid, a failed uprising against the British government. He was imprisoned until 1946, when he joined communist politics as a member of the Communist Party of India. Ghosh became a leader of the party after independence, and he served in the Legislative Assembly from 1951 to 1967 and in the Lok Sabha from 1967 to 1970. Ghosh died in Calcutta, India on 16 October 1994 at the age of 94.
