The Gambetti crime family is an Italian-American organized crime syndicate that is affiliated with the American Mafia. The family was led by Sonny Cangelosi until his death in 2008, upon which his nephew Jon Gravelli took over. The family was based out of The Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan, and it soon became the most powerful Cosa Nostra family in New York City. Beginning in 1958, the Gambetti family controlled several lucrative rackets such as window cleaning services and bus lines. In 2008, the family came into conflict with the Korean Mob, the Ancelotti crime family, and the Russian Mafia, and Gravelli worked together with the CIA and hired hitman Niko Bellic to eliminate major rivals of the family.
