Gamaliel H. Barstow

Gamaliel H. Barstow (20 July 1784-30 March 1865) was a member of the US House of Representatives (AM-NY 25) from 4 March 1831 to 3 March 1833, succeeding Thomas Maxwell and preceding Samuel Clark. Born in Sharon, Connecticut, he moved to Tioga county, New York in 1812 and worked as a shopkeeper before serving in the State Assembly from 1816 to 1818, as a county judge from 1818 to 1823, in the state senate from 1819 to 1822, 1824, and 1827, as state treasurer from 1825 to 1826 and from 1838 to 1839, as town supervisor of Nichols in 1830, and in Conrgess.
