Galeazzo Sforza

Galeazzo Sforza (died 14 April 1515) was Lord of Pesaro from 5 August to 2 November 1512, succeeding Costanzo II Sforza and preceding Francesco Maria I della Rovere.

Biography[]

Galeazzo Sforza was the son of Costanzo I Sforza and the brother of Giovanni Sforza, and he was a member of the prestigious House of Sforza. He was the uncle and guardian of Costanzo II Sforza, and he succeeded him as Lord of Pesaro on his death in 1512. However, Pope Julius II denied this investment and made his nephew Francesco Maria I della Rovere the new Lord of Pesaro. In 1515, Galeazzo Sforza became Governor of Cremona, and he was shot dead by a musketeer while escorting Maximilian Sforza from Parma to Milan in 1515.
