Gaetano Nobile was an Italian Christian Democracy politician.
Biography[]
Gaetano Nobile was born in Naples, Italy, and he became a Christian Democracy politician. He was a member of the Chamber of Deputies for years, and he settled in a palace in Rome. He met rising Lega Nord politician Pietro Bosco in 1992, when Bosco asked Nobile to lower the volume of his music at his party; Nobile and Bosco were neighbors. Nobile later became a mentor to Bosco, giving him advice on how to enter politics. Nobile also helped Bosco in getting a television contract for his lover, Veronica Castello, in exchange for Bosco approving the purchase of weapons from Nobile's Camorra associate, going against his party's anti-military policies. This led to Bosco's expulsion from his party list, but he was allowed to rejoin his party after voting in favor of Nobile's arrest over the illegal arms purchase. In 1993, the two men reconciled, despite Bosco's betrayal of Nobile, and Nobile advised him to attend salons forbidden by Lega, leading to Bosco almost toppling the Lega leadership.
