Gabriel de Guzman was a Spanish man from La Mancha who was assigned as Cesare Borgia's keeper in January 1506. He ensured that Cesare Borgia was confined to his suite, and he treated him cruelly, warning him that he would be condemned to death if found guilty by the Inquisition, and that he did not understand his circumstances. He failed to prevent Borgia from escaping in 1507, but he killed the priest Alonso Pimental, who was involved in Borgia's escape.
