G. Collier Robbins

George Collier Robbins (1 September 1823-1908) was the Republican Mayor of Portland, Oregon from 1860 to 1861, succeeding S.J. McCormick and preceding John M. Breck.

Biography[]

George Collier Robbins was born in 1823, and he lived and worked in Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, and St. Louis before moving to California in April 1852 and then to Portland, Oregon in October 1852. He opened a watch and jewelry business there, and he served as Portland's Republican mayor from 1860 to 1861. He moved to California in 1862 and died in San Diego in 1908.
