The Fung Hai Tong was a Chinese-American criminal organiaztion that was active in San Francisco's Chinatown during the 1870s. Led by Pai Hon-ping, the Fung Hai Tong claimed to be descended from Genghis Khan's Mongols, and they came to control San Francisco's illegal gambling scene. In 1878, Pai was assassinated by his lieutenant Zing Yuen at the behest of Long Zii Tong lieutenant Mai Ling, and Zing took charge of the gang and allied himself with Long Zii. As a result, the Fung Hai Tong sat on the front lines of the war with the Hop Wei Tong, which, together with the San Francisco Police Department, destroyed the Fung Hai.
