Fujiwara Iefusa (1165-1191) was the Commissioner for Supply for the Kubota Fujiwara, and was the second son of Fujiwara Motofusa and his wife Fujiwara Hoshi. After a failed attack on Uzen Province, Iefusa, Motofusa, and many others were killed by Minamoto Yoritomo in a counterattack.
Biography[]
As the second son of Fujiwara Motofusa, the daimyo of Ugo Province and the Kubota Fujiwara cadet branch of the Fujiwara family, Iefusa was of little initial value. He traveled all the way to Chugoku as a hostage for the Doi to secure a trade agreement, but when he came of age, he was made Commissioner for Supply and held important rank. Iefusa took part in the Kenkyu War against the Kamakura Minamoto, during which his father led an army into Uzen to reclaim it from the Minamoto. Iefusa followed him into battle, which resulted in a Minamoto victory. Iefusa and many other of the Fujiwara officers were killed in battle.
