Frost Giants are creatures of Norse mythology.
History[]
The Frost Giants were the descendants of Ymir, the first giant, and were led by Utgard-Loki. In some legends, they stood at 10 feet in height, but in other legends they stood much taller. The Frost Giants of Jotunheim, led by Laufey, were known to attack the realm of Asgard on Earth for thousands of years, but each time they were thwarted by Odin. The Frost Giants attacked Asgard with the help of Loki one time, as Loki wished to succeed Odin as the king of Asgard rather than his brother Thor, but he later found out that he was actually Laufey's son that was taken in by Odin. The Frost Giants were able to take over Asgard briefly before Loki killed Laufey in an attempt to make it seem as if he was the savior of Asgard while Thor was exiled to Earth for leading a retaliatory attack on Jotunheim for their attack on Asgard earlier. However, Thor returned and revealed Loki's intentions, and he stopped him from destroying Jotunheim, although many Frost Giants were killed.
