
Freeborn Garrettson Jewett (4 August 1791-27 January 1858) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 23) from 4 March 1831 to 3 March 1833, succeeding Jonas Earll Jr. and preceding William K. Fuller. Born in Sharon, Connecticut, he settled in Skaneateles, New York before practicing law and serving as county surrogate, in the State Assembly in 1826, in Congress, as a prison inspector, and as a judge.
