The Free State of Prussia was a state of the Weimar Republic of Germany that existed from 1918 to 1947. Otto Braun served as president of the free state after the Treaty of Versailles and the November Revolution led to the state's establishment, only to be overthrown in the 1932-1933 "Prussian Coup". In 1933, the Nazi Party seized control over the government, and Hermann Goering served as its president until 1945. The free state was abolished in 1947 upon the division of Germany.
