Frederick the Red (23 March 1151 - 3 October 1191) was a commander of the Knights Templar on Cyprus, serving as the second-in-command to garrison commander Armand Bouchart. Frederick was said to have "served God and the people of Cyprus with honor".

Frederick the Red was a military commander of the Knights Templar and was sent to become the second-in-command to Armand Bouchart on the island of Cyprus in addition to the trainer of Templar forces there. He was made Governor of Limassol Castle and gained the confidence of the people of Limassol when Bouchart stated that he "served God and the people of Cyprus with honor".
Death[]
In 1191, the Hashshashin of the Levant infiltrated the island of Cyprus and Altair Ibn-La'Ahad headed to Limassol to kill Frederick. Frederick was assassinated by his hidden blades, killing him and forcing Bouchart to tighten security.
