
Frederick Ulrich of Brunswick-Luneburg (5 April 1591-11 August 1634) was Prince of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel from 1613 to 1634 (succeeding Henry Julius and preceding Augustus the Younger), Prince of Calenberg from 1613 to 1634 (succeeding Henry Julius and preceding George), and Prince of Grubenhagen from 1613 to 1617 (succeeding Henry Julius and preceding Christian).
Biography[]
Friedrich Ulrich von Welf was born in Wolfenbuttel, Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Germany in 1591. He succeeded his father as Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg in 1613, and, during his reign, Brunswick was heavily ransacked amid the Thirty Years' War, both by Count Tilly's Catholic forces and Gustavus Adolphus' Protestant forces. He died after an accident in 1634.
