
Frederic Hale Parkhurst (5 November 1864-31 January 1921) was the Republican Governor of Maine from 5 to 31 January 1921, succeeding Carl Milliken and preceding Percival P. Baxter.
Biography[]
Frederic Hale Parkhurst was born in Bangor, Maine in 1864, and he worked as a leather manufacturer and retail businessman before entering politics as a Republican. He served on the Bangor City Council from 1893 to 1894, in the State House from 1895 to 1896 and from 1899 to 1902, in the State Senate from 1907 to 1908, and as Governor in 1921, dying of pneumonia just a few weeks into his tenure.
