Frederic Collin Walcott (19 February 1869-27 April 1949) was a Republican US Senator from Connecticut from 4 March 1929 to 3 January 1935, succeeding George P. McLean and preceding Francis T. Maloney.

Biography[]

Frederic Collin Walcott was born in New York Mills, Oneida County, New York in 1869, and he was raised in Utica and moved to New York City in 1907. He became a cotton cloth manufacturer and banker, and he moved to Norfolk, Connecticut in 1910 and retired from his New York business pursuits in 1921. He was involved in state Republican politics, served in the State Senate from 1925 to 1929, served in the US Senate from 1929 to 1935, and as Welfare Commissioner from 1935 to 1939. He died in Stamford in 1949 at the age of 80.
