Fred Whalen (18 December 1977 - 31 March 2004) was an American TravelWire agent from New Mexico.

In 2004, Fred was beaten to death by Lalo Salamanca while he was investigating the construction of Gus Fring's secret meth lab. The TravelWire store, along with Fred's body were later burned by Lalo. Mike Ehrmantraut would later uncover information tying Lalo to Fred's death and disclosed this information to a police detective, which lead to Lalo getting arrested for murder and hit-and-run. During Lalo's bail hearing, the judge ordered bail to be set at $7 million due to the severity of the crime. Lalo managed to post bail due to sending Jimmy McGill out in the desert to collect the money.
