
Franklin Robert Pearce (21 September 1942 – 9 February 1968) was a soldier of MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War.
Biography[]
Franklin Robert Pearce was born in Seattle, Washington on 21 September 1942. Pearce was drafted into the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, so he decided to fight with the best and transfer to MACV-SOG. During the Kim Thuy Operation (9 February 1968), he commanded a squad of SOG troops that assaulted a Viet Cong machine-gun position in a house on the top of a hill. Pearce assisted in its capture, but he was killed as he entered the backyard, where a Viet Cong hole was constructed.
