Francesco Stephen Castelluccio (3 May 1934-), known professionally as Frankie Valli, was an American rock, pop, and disco singer who was best known as the frontman of the Four Seasons, beginning in 1960. Born in Newark, New Jersey to an Italian family, he worked as a barber and was involved in petty crime as a youth before forming the "Variety Trio" with Nickie DeVito (later replaced by Nick Macioci) and Tommy DeVito in 1952. The band renamed itself to the "Four Lovers" in 1956 and to the "Four Seasons" in 1960, bringing in Bob Gaudio. The band scored 29 top-40 hits, and Valli also scored nine top-40 hits as a solo artist.
Valli claimed to not involve himself deeply in politics, but, in a 2017 interview with The Tennessean, he expressed his dismay at the insertion of liberal politics into entertainment in reaction to Donald Trump's presidential victory in 2016, declaring, "Whether you like the guy or not, he won the election. The worst thing we can do is not support whoever the president is, whether it was Barack Obama or Bill Clinton, George Bush or Donald Trump for that matter."
