Frank Falcone

Frank Falcone (1905-1955) was the Don of the Falcone crime family of Los Angeles. In 1955, he died in a plane crash engineered by Michael Corleone.

Biography[]

Frank Falcone was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1905 to an Italian family, and he worked in his family store until he was fifteen, when his father and sister were killed in a stick-up. The police refused to act, as they did not care about the violence in the Italian community. Falcone responded by approaching Chicago Outfit boss Al Capone, who had both the thief and the police sergeant murdered, and Falcone became a member of Capone's organization. Following Capone's arrest for tax evasion, Falcone moved to Los Angeles, California and established his own syndicate. He came to control many of the movie unions and show business, and he allied himself with Don Anthony Molinari. During the Five Families War, he supported the Corleone crime family, although he supported the drug trade. Following the murders of the Corleone family's rival dons, Falcone suspected that Michael Corleone had a hand in these murders, and Falcone and Vincent Forlenza conspired against Corleone. Corleone responded by sabotaging a plane carrying both Falcone and Don Molinari, and they died in the ensuing crash.
