Frank Colletti (1877-1938) was an Italian-American mafioso and the longtime consigliere of the Salieri crime family.
Biography[]
Frank Colletti was born in Sicily, Italy in 1877, and he was a childhood friend of Ennio Salieri. He later accompanied Salieri to the United States and settled in Chicago, Illinois, where he became the right-hand man of Don Salieri as the consigliere of the Salieri crime family. By 1933, however, Colletti had become disillusioned with his criminal lifestyle due to the Morello crime family threatening the lives of his family, and he sought to retire in peace. He worked out a secret deal with the FBI, and he attempted to escape Chicago with the Salieri family's account books; however, he was confronted by the family's made man Tommy Angelo, who had been sent to kill him. After Colletti explained himself and his motivations for betraying Salieri, Angelo decided to spare Colletti in exchange for taking his account books back, and he told Salieri that Colletti was dead. Colletti lived in Italy for several years before a family friend recognized him when he briefly came out of hiding to place a bet, and Salieri sent hitmen to Naples and assassinated Colletti. Angelo was later forced to turn states to protect himself from Salieri's retaliation.
