Frangibus da Nuvolento (1408-1470) was a general of the Republic of Venice. He was the victor of the 1443 Battle of Castelcovati.
Biography[]
Nuvolentese by birth but raised in the Republic of Venice, Frangibus became a general of the Republic of Venice due to his skills in combat. Nuvolento commanded Venetian forces in the Lombardy Wars (1423-1454) and won the Battle of Castelcovati in 1443, capturing Chiari shortly after. Nuvolento continued to serve as a general until he was captured at the Battle of Il Ticino in 1447 in a failed naval battle. He was imprisoned, but escaped and continued to lead Venetian troops until the war's end. Nuvolento retired and became a wealthy merchant.
