
Francisco de Paula Souza e Melo (5 January 1791-16 August 1851) was Prime Minister of Brazil from 3 May to 29 September 1848, succeeding Jose Carlos Pereira de Almeida Torres and preceding Pedro de Araujo Lima.
Biography[]
Francisco de Paula Souza e Melo was born in Itu, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1791, and he was elected to the Constituent Assembly in 1823 and served as a Liberal Party of Brazil deputy from 1826 to 1829 and from 1830 to 1833 and as Prime Minister in 1848. He died in 1851.
