Francisco Ricardo Munguia was born in Sinaloa, Mexico in 1976, the older half-brother of Ignacio "La Plaga" Perez Cervantes, and he was raised in rural poverty. He was a childhood friend of Rodrigo Carlos "El Sueño" Pérez Morales, and the two grew up on farms near huge hilltop mansions belonging to the drug lords. El Sueño left the village when he was 11 years old, while Munguia went on to join the Mexican Army. Munguia received special forces training and, like other corrupt soldiers in the cartel, provided security to drug lords.

In 2009, El Sueño - now the boss of the Santa Blanca Cartel - persuaded Munguia to leave the army and join the cartel as its head of security. El Muro provided protection for the cartel's operations in Bolivia, making sure that every division could operate in safety by taking care of issues ranging from the Kataris 26 rebels to the United States.

In 2019, the United States launched Operation Kingslayer to dismantle and destroy Santa Blanca in Bolivia. Munguia broke with El Sueño after the latter ordered the death of his brother, La Plaga, for his failures against America's Ghost Recon team. While it was the Ghosts who ultimately killed La Plaga, Munguia's relationship with his old friend was shattered, and El Sueño ultimately gave Munguia a head-start before ordering his death as his empire crumbled. Munguia was captured in an American raid in Media Luna and was extracted to San Mateo Province, where CIA agent Karen Bowman interrogated him and forced him to cooperate with the USA's prosecution of El Sueño.
