Francine Martin (1914-1943) was a French singer and Nazi collaborator during World War II. She was the fiancee of French Resistance leader Duval Mingo until she betrayed him in favor of German general Gunter Krist, leading to her murder.
Biography[]
Francine Martin was born in Paris, France in 1914, and she later became a well-known singer. Martin became the girlfriend and fiancee of motorcycle factory foreman Duval Mingo, but Mingo later said that she couldn't keep either her mouth or her legs closed. Her promiscuity led to her courting the German general Gunter Krist, and she decided to sell out the French Resistance rebels, including her husband, while she also put Krist's picture in the locket that Mingo had gifted to her. After Mingo was nearly killed in the Jardin Des Plantes ambush - triggered by Martin's betrayal of the Resistance - Mingo tasked his associate Sean Devlin with assassinating Martin and retrieving the locket.

In 1943, Martin held an open-air concert in Saint-Germain-des-Pres in front of a crowd of German soldiers, and Devlin was sent to kill her. He climbed to a vantage point overlooking the courtyard and the stage, from which he could see Martin start to perform in front of the Germans. Shortly after she began to sing her song, Devlin shot Martin with his Gewehr 98 rifle, killing her. After killing the German soldiers in the audience, Devlin headed onto the stage and retrieved the locket, which he brought back to Mingo.
