Fox News

Fox News is an American multinational conservative cable news television channel based in New York City which was founded on 7 October 1996. Founded by Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Fox News launched in 1996 with 17 million cable subscribers, growing during the late 1990s and 2000s to become the dominant American subscription cable news network; by September 2018, 90.8% of television subscribers received Fox News. Fox News spread far-right conspiracy theories such as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "covering up" the "truth" behind the 2012 Benghazi attack, that Clinton approved the Uranium One sale in exchange for $145 million in bribes paid to the Clinton Foundation, that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election was a "witch hunt" against Donald Trump, that The New York Times disclosed intelligence in one of its stories and helped Islamic State caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi evade capture in the process, promoted climate change denial, claimed that Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich was "assassinated" by the Clintons, engaged in "whataboutism" to shift the blame for far-right political violence onto anti-fascists (whom they called the "alt-left" or "Antifa"), promoted COVID-19 misinformation, promoted claims that the voting machine company Smartmatic and its competitor Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 presidential election against Trump, and falsely claimed that President Joe Biden had violated a campaign promise by resuming the construction of Trump's border wall.
