Forza Italia is a liberal-conservative and Christian democratic political party in Italy, founded on 18 January 1994. The party combined the ideologies of liberal conservatism, Christian democracy, liberalism, populism, and social democracy, and it had 400,000 members in 2017. In March 1994, it won its first general election, and the party supported center-right views. The party was immensely loyal to its founder and leader, Silvio Berlusconi, relying on his personal image and charisma to win elections. The party merged into The People of Freedom party on 27 March 2009, but Forza Italia was revived on 18 September 2013, with Berlusconi remaining its leader. The party's broad array of views was justified by the shifting views of Berlusconi, serving as his "personal party".
