Forrest Carl Donnell (20 August 1884-3 March 1980) was the Republican Governor of Missouri from 26 February 1941 to 8 January 1945 (succeeding Lloyd C. Stark and preceding Phil M. Donnelly) and a US Senator from 3 January 1945 to 3 January 1951 (succeeding Bennett Champ Clark and preceding Thomas C. Hennings Jr.).

Biography[]

Forrest Carl Donnell was born in Quitman, Missouri in 1884, and he and Selden P. Spencer cofounded a St. Louis law firm in 1911. He served as city attorney of Webster Groves before serving as Governor from 1941 to 1945 and in the US Senate from 1945 to 1951 as a conservative Republican. He supported the Taft-Hartley Act, other anti-labor measures, and lower income taxes and was an isolationist. He died in 1980.
