The Forelli crime family was an American Mafia organized crime syndicate that operated in New York City. The family was formed and led by Santino "Sonny" Forelli from 1968 until his death in 1986. Sonny's position as don were later succeeded by his brothers Marco and Franco Forelli respectively.
By 2001, the Forelli family had very little presence in New York following the mob wars three years prior. In October 2001, Forelli underboss Mike Forelli was killed in a car explosion outside of Saint Mark's Bistro in Brooklyn by street criminal Claude Speed on the orders of high-ranking Leone crime family member Joey Leone. The family was subsequently wiped out and its remaining members dispersed.
