Floyd Hatfield (7 January 1858-April 1938) was an American farmer from Pike County, Kentucky. In 1878, he stole a hog from Randolph McCoy, who recognized the stolen hog by the marking on its ear; when the issue was taken to the justice of the peace Devil Anse Hatfield, Floyd's cousin, Devil Anse decided in his cousin's favor following Bill Staton's testimony. Staton was murdered by the McCoy family shortly after, escalating the Hatfield-McCoy feud.
