The Flemish are a Germanic ethnic group native to the Flanders region of northern Belgium. The Flemish are closely related to the Dutch people, as they speak the Dutch language; along with the Francophone Walloons, the Flemish are one of two main ethnic groups in Belgium, and they make up 60% of the population. In 2017, the world Flemish population was 7,000,000 people, with 6,450,765 living in Belgium alone.
