Fiske (died 878) was a retainer of Earl Kjartan of Dunholm.
Biography[]
Fiske was a retainer of the Danish warlord Kjartan in the fortress of Dunholm, and, in 878, he took part in Kjartan's conspiracy to kill his rival Uhtred of Bebbanburg. One day, he was sent out of the castle to inspect the appearance of seven severed heads placed on posts on the road in front of Dunholm, and he identified the last one as Tekil. Just then, Uhtred, masked and on horseback, rode past Fiske and sliced off his head with his sword.
