The First Silver Islands expedition was a naval battle of the Peloponnesian War which was fought off the Silver Islands of Greece in 424 BC.
Following the Battle of Solinus, Sparta seized control of Mykonos from the Athenian-led Delian League. This did not stem the tide of Athenian ships sailing through the islands' waterways, however, and the nascent Spartan navy found itself outnumbered. The Spartan mercenary Kassandra, captain of the Adrestia, decided to aid the Spartans and plunder Athenian shipping, so she decided to attack the heavy trireme Lukos. Kassandra and her crew boarded and plundered the Lukos before it sunk, and the Adrestia proceeded to destroy several other Athenian ships which sailed into battle. Ultimately, the Adrestia helped to turn the tide of battle, and Kassandra and her crew accrued large quantities of loot from boarding or sinking several Athenian ships.
