Socialists

The Finnish Socialist Workers' Republic was a short-lived socialist state which existed from 29 January to 5 May 1918 in southern Finland. The Social Democratic Party of Finland's Finnish Red Guards ruled over the south of the country during the Finnish Civil War with Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim's "whites", but Helsinki would fall to the whites on 5 May 1918. The fall of Helsinki ended the short-lived communist state, and many communists fled to the Soviet Union.
