Kiyoshi Takayama

Kiyoshi Takayama (born 5 September 1947) was the second-in-command of the Yamaguchi-gumi Yakuza syndicate of Japan and the boss of the Kodo-kai.

Biography[]

Kiyoshi Takayama was born on 5 September 1947 in Tsushima, Aichi Prefecture, Japan (not to be confused with the island of Tsushima). He joined the Yamaguchi-gumi in Nagoya and suffered an injury to his right eye during a lethal sword fight against an enemy in his early yakuza career, and he was nicknamed "Katame (one-eye) of Nagoya" as a result. Takayama became the head of the Kodo-kai affiliate of the Yamaguchi-gumi, ruling Nagoya with 5,000 soldiers. In November 2010, he was arrested for extorting $400,000 from a construction businessman, but he was released on bail for $5,000,000 in June 2012.
