The Fiat Carro Armato M13/40 was a medium tank used by the Royal Italian Army during World War II, from 8 July 1940 to 1943. 2,000 tanks were built by Italy to fight in North Africa against the Allies, and the tank became the primary tank used by the Italians during the war. The tank was no longer used after 1943, when Italy signed an armistice with the Allies and disbanded much of its army.
