Fernando Ordonez

Fernando Ordonez (c. 1029-c. 1066) was a courtier of the Kingdom of Castile. His wife Fronilda, a lowborn woman, would remarry to King Alfonso of Leon after Ordonez's death and bear his first child.

Biography[]

Fernando Ordonez was born around 1029 to the House of Leon. He was the grandson of King Bermudo I of Galicia, and he had six siblings, two of which had died as of 1066. He became a courtier of the Kingdom of Castile and married Fronilda, a lowborn woman. She bore him three children, including Bermudo Fernandez, who would be a courtier later in life. Ordonez died before 1066 at the age of 37, and his wife remarried to King Alfonso of Leon, with whom she had a fourth child.
