
Ferdinando Badali was a Sicilian Mafia member and the son of a major clan boss. In 2008, he was sent to Rome to supervise the progress made by the Mafia Capitale boss Samurai with acquiring a 20-acre piece of beachfront property in Ostia from the Roman Catholic Church for the Mafia, and he warned Samurai about letting down his father after Mayor Walter Veltroni's resignation gave Samurai and his Mafia handlers just 21 days to secure a deal with the corrupt politician Amedeo Cinaglia to acquire the land.
