Feltham is a large town in West London, England, located 13 miles from Charing Cross. It was an affluent parish of Middlesex during the Middle Ages, and it had 21 households in 1086. In 1631, Lord Francis Cottington inherited King Henry VIII's manor at Feltham and turned it into Hanworth Park. By 1831, Feltham had expanded to 2,620 acres and had a population of 924, and Waterloo Station's line to Reading expanded through Feltham in 1848. In 1965, Feltham became part of Greater London, and Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury was a famous resident of Feltham; from 2009 to 2011, a memorial to him stood in the town, but it was later removed due to neglect and weather damage.
