Felix Krempin

Felix Krempin (died September 1929) was a German lighting technician and Berlin Mafia associate.

Biography[]

Felix Krempin was born in Berlin, German Empire, and he lived in Kudamm while working as the head light technician at Babelsberg Film Studios. In September 1929, Bela Gosztony hired Krempin to sabotage the studio's spotlight so that it would kill the actress Betty Winter, and Krempin, impersonating his former coworker Peter Glaser from Elmowerk, refused to commit the crime at the last second. Gosztony proceeded to carry out the crime himself while cloaked, and policeman Gereon Rath chased Krempin down a few nights later and interrogated him in his car. Krempin said that he was only hired to sabotage the production and cause trouble and not to kill anyone, but, when Rath asked Krempin who he worked for, Krempin was shot by "the Phantom" (Sandor), who used a silenced pistol before fleeing.
